Why we built this, and what we stand for.
Finding vegan and vegetarian products in Australian supermarkets is genuinely frustrating. Labels are confusing, ingredients lists are long, and stock changes all the time. We built VegcheckAU to make plant-based shopping simple — a free, no-nonsense guide to what's actually on the shelves at Woolworths, Coles and Aldi.
Every product listed on VegcheckAU is checked against its full ingredients list. We look out for hidden non-vegan ingredients including gelatin, carmine (E120), lanolin, casein, whey, L-cysteine, and animal-derived vitamin D3. If there's any doubt, we don't list it. Products are reviewed and updated weekly as formulations can change.
We currently cover Australia's three biggest supermarkets — Woolworths, Coles and Aldi. We're working on adding more stores including IGA and Harris Farm. Each product links directly to the store's website so you can check current pricing and availability.
